Triathlon de Saintes April 2006

Please read below and see what we did in 2006.

Saintes, a city steeped in art and history, dates back to roman times when it was the capital of Aquitania in the 1st century., and a main stopping place on the road to Saint James of Compostella. The city is the centre of the Saintonge region, the land of Cognac, pineau des Charentes and romanesque art. The Romans built some great roads (for biking), there are some excellent places to run and there are beautiful Atlantic beaches nearby.

The one week trip will include:

  • 8 Days/7 Nights staying at beautiful Chateau Mouillepied (single or double occupancy available)
  • Professional training with USAT level 2 coach Pascale Butcher
  • All meals included (except for two "free" evenings).
  • Entry into the Saintes Triathlon (choice of Olympic or Sprint events) held on Sunday April 30. The Olympic distance event is a regional championship event and a qualifier for the French National Championship.
  • Ground Transportation (from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport).
  • Special local experiences including: French Gastronomic evening, Visits to Cognac and Bordeaux wine region.
  • Plenty of time for relaxation and site seeing.

You will be responsible for:

  • Flight to Paris (you should plan on arriving at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport on the early morning of Wednesday April 26th. We will catch the TGV train from there.
