TRIFITNESS IS PART OF THE USA TRIATHLON NATIONAL CHALLENGE COMPETITION
Congratulations! You have just completed the longest triathlon of your life with the most competitors you will meet. In the end, there were over 90 clubs from all over the US competiting with some 1,980 competitors on the field. There were some 939,076 total miles logged with 34,000 in swimming, 673,000 in biking and 232,000 in running.
Trifitness ended posting 17,364 total miles, with 739 from swimming, 12,571 from biking and 4,054 in running from 38 competitors. Our overall placement was 23rd by the end of the competion, but we showed steady improvement across the three months. At the end of the first month we were in 30th place with 3,561 total miles, then moved to 22nd place with 7,550 miles by the end of the second month and finished the third month in 20th place with 6,253 miles.
The winning teams were generally much larger with 75 competitors involved. Interestingly, the top five teams came from five different parts of the country, California, New York, Florida, Michigan and Alaska. The winning team by over 10,000 miles was the San Diego Tri Club with a total of 62,999 miles from 75 competitors. The fifth place team was Alaska Triathlon Club from Anchorage with 37,174 miles from 70 competitors.
